We The People. Those words are the beginning of one of the most important documents ever created. The US Constitution declares that all men are created equal and guarantees them certain inalienable rights. For American Samoans, this means that no matter what your cultural status is, you are all equal.
All people - any color.. any creed.. any village! All people are equal in the eyes of the government! Equality amongst the people is an inalienable right guaranteed to us through the US Constitution.
And yet..
The Governor of American Samoa has become a position of selfishness and greed. The Governorship of American Samoa is not about helping your family and friends. It is exactly a position of community management in which all people are treated equally.
The government is nothing to be afraid of. All people, every citizen and resident, are the boss of the government. The government works for you. If you are afraid to speak out, that is positive proof that you have a problem with your government. Under the United States flag, no one should be afraid of their government or to speak out against problems. You are guaranteed free speech even when speaking out against the government. The government has no legal power to hurt you.
If you feel afraid to speak out, it is because you are afraid of your government. If you're afraid of your government, how can the government work for you? The government is your employee. Do not fear your employee.
TELL YOUR GOVERNOR WHAT YOU WANT HIM TO DO FOR YOU.. AND THEN EXPECT HIM TO DO IT!
